Does Montana Follow This Trend for Special Occasions?

There is probably something taking up a large amount of space within your home; and you have probably never even used it.  All because you have been saving it for the perfect occasion to break it out and show it off.

Special occasion items are cluttering up your home (and mine) and if I am being totally honest with myself, we won't ever use them, and our children don't want them.  It might be time to make every occasion an "important one" instead of just dusting these things constantly.  Or it may just be time for a huge garage sale next spring.

Does Montana Follow This Trend for Special Occasions?

I came across a new survey that claimed that the average person will wait 30 years before breaking out the fine China or glassware for those special occasions.  I hate being average, just saying:

Over those 30 odd years, we've hosted numerous special occasions and never once did someone sitting at the table ask to be served via the crystal or China dinnerware.  And every time my wife and I discuss it, the same result happens; we think of getting rid of it, but it never leaves its comfy glass shelves and wooden home.

Don't Worry, Your Children Will Have the Will to Do What You Didn't

One aspect of the survey that really hit home for my wife and I was despite having but never using these fancy items, many parents plan to pass them on to their children.  But how many of those kids want something they were never allowed to use or even touch?

And doe's my son's family really need this many crystal serving glasses:

No, they do not.  And your kids probably don't want yours either.  It is a tough reality, but if you haven't needed or wanted it within 30 years, you are probably going to want to stop by the hardware store for some garage sale signs.  However, if you would like to add to your collection, keep an eye for my posters going up this spring, because I really don't need a lot of this stuff!
