The Great Falls MT Police Department is aiming to make that headache and time-consuming process a little easier for residents of the Electric City. They've announced an all-new place to find those pertinent details in emergency situations.

The All-New Great Falls Police Department Alerts Channel is Live Now

Through an announcement via social media, the GFPD has announced a new "GFPD Alerts Channel" to help residents. This new channel will "allow us to send urgent messages directly to your Facebook Messenger inbox. Alerts will also be posted to our page, but this new option allows us to reach a wider audience faster."

GFPD hopes that using a central location to inform people can result in quicker responses not only about a crime or emergency, but to keep the public informed and in the know with their help.

Residents Need to Sign Up for New Page from GFPD

The new social media page requires a user to sign up for the alerts. Once signed up, the GFPD states that:

These alerts will ask community members to take some sort of action, whether it's helping find a lost child or other person in immediate danger, to evacuate or shelter-in-place during a natural disaster or police related incident, and other emergencies. We may also, periodically, use the channel to gather information through polls.
