Even after more than 5 decades of being a Montanan, I still am amazed at the things that I learn about it. Actually, I have you the reader to thank for that. If it wasn't for you, I wouldn't be poking around the internet trying to find cool and unique things to write and talk about.
It also amazes me the simplest of things that can be found about our state, even if you think you have a handle on history in Montana. For instance, that imaginary line between us and the Great White North. How much do you know about it?

The uniqueness that is the US/Montana/Canadian border isn't so much about the imaginary line that separates the two countries, but more about the details that surround it.

For Montana, that border runs the entire top outline of our state. It covers 545 miles, which ranks our state 5th in total border miles. Alaska has the most with 1.538 miles total. Montana is also home to 4 international airports that fly between the countries.
The Record Montana Holds Will Probably Never Be Broken
While Montana may be a tad behind in overall mileage covered by the border, there is one factoid that no other state in the Union can lay claim to.
Montana is the only state that borders 3 different Canadian provinces via its border.
There are several that border 2, but Montana is the only that borders British Columbia to the northwest, then Alberta and Saskatchewan to the north and northeast. You can learn more about the longest international boundary here.
