“Wanna Grab a Burger?” It’s National Double Cheeseburger Day!
It's time for celebration! Not only is it Friday but it also happens to be National Double Cheeseburger Day. Who the heck decided this? Do we care? Who ever decided on having double the amount of cheese on a cheeseburger deserves to be recognized as one of the greatest inventors of modern time. With that said, the inventor of the cheeseburger should be given THE GREATEST INVENTOR of modern time.
Lionel Sternberger is the man! Lionel was working in his father's sandwich shop in 1926, The Rite Spot, and had a crazy idea of putting a piece of American cheese on a sizzling piece of hamburger. There you have it. The creation of the cheeseburger.
It was years later in 1937, Bob's Big Boy created the double cheeseburger.
Cheeseburgers are an iconic American staple. I mean, have you ever replied "No" when someone says "Let's go grab a cheeseburger". That would be silly. Choosing were to go to get that burger can be a bigger discussion. This might lead into a rock, paper, scissors, kind of situation.
So go grab yourself a double cheeseburger today but keep those burgers coming because Monday is National Cheeseburger Day! Or heat the grill up and start cooking those patties at home. However you do it, just do it.
Not sure how National Double Cheeseburger Day is celebrated before National Cheeseburger Day, but whatever.
