Montana Agency Offers Big Incentive to Help Nurse Shortage
As the son of someone who spent their career in the medical field, I can assure you that it isn't for the weak. It truly does take a special kind of person to offer compassion and care for those suffering.
For Montana, the shortage of those nurses in both the private and public sectors is a serious concern, even more so in rural areas across the state. Now, the Montana Department of Public Health and Human Services is hoping to attract applicants with a new, one-time incentive bonus for a limited time.

Montana Agency Offers Big Incentive to Help Nurse Shortage
It isn't just Montana that is suffering a shortage of nurses in hospitals. According to the American Association of Colleges of Nursing, the need carries across the country. Data shows "a shortage of Registered Nurses (RNs) that is expected to intensify as Baby Boomers age and the need for health care grows".

The Montana State Hospital and other state-run facilities are hoping that a $7500 hiring bonus will swing the tide for RN's, Licensed Practical Nurses (LPN) or Certified Nursing Aides (CNA) to apply with the state and MDPHHS.
There is a Catch, But It Might Just Be Worth it to Work in Montana
There is one small catch to the hiring bonus; you need to be with the state for at least one year of employment before getting the incentive. But not only do you get to live in Big Sky Country, you also are getting a pretty good pay while doing so.
The Montana DPHHS starting pay for RN's is around $49 an hour; I never remember my mother bragging about knocking down that kind of cash when she was 3rd floor on the Old Columbus Hospital! To find out more about openings with MDPHHS, visit their website and application process here.
