Montana Could Be Getting Its Own ‘Real Housewives’ Show

Well, here we go. 

Bravo’s New Adventure: The Real Housewives of Montana

It looks like Bravo is planning a new reality TV show in Montana, and we're talking about one of those shows that, I'll admit, I know very little about. 

“The Real Housewives of Montana” is reportedly being developed by Bravo. According to Yahoo Entertainment, they are looking for cast members around Bozeman and Big Sky. Bravo hasn't confirmed that it's happening.

Montana's Hidden Wealth: What Will We Discover?

If this show actually happens, it's going to give people around the country a look at a part of Montana that most of us will probably never experience. 

I've never watched an episode of The Real Housewives, but I did predict it may come here a few years ago, and there's already a Montana connection to the franchise.

Kroy Biermann, who appeared on The Real Housewives of Atlanta with his wife, Kim Zolciak, was born in Montana and played football at the University of Montana before going on to play professionally for the Atlanta Falcons. 

And, of course, their very public and very messy divorce has played out in the public eye. 

That's reality television for you.

But the thing that really interests me about this new show is which Montana are we going to see? 

Because television has a funny way of showing us parts of Montana that even people who grew up here don't necessarily know. 

Wealthy Ranches and Bentleys: A Different Montana

I remember watching Yellowstone and thinking, Wait a minute... people are driving Bentleys around Montana?

Then you hear about these ranches worth hundreds of millions of dollars and the incredible amount of wealth that's moved into parts of the state. 

I'm aware that wealth exists here. 

I just don't experience it. 

I have a feeling The Real Housewives of Montana could do the exact same thing. 

It could show us a Montana that a lot of lifelong Montanans have never seen. 

So, will this bring even more people to Montana? 

Will it create another wave of people who suddenly decide they want to move here, the way Yellowstone helped fuel interest in Montana? 

Cultural Representation: Will Montanans Recognize Themselves?

Perhaps the biggest question: 

How is Montana going to be portrayed? 

Because I'm not sure how much of this show the average Montanan is going to look at and say, “Yep, that's my Montana.” 

Maybe that's the most interesting part of all. 

The Many Shades of Montana: What’s Next for the Show?

There are a lot of different Montanas out there. 

Apparently, we're about to meet another one. 

Time will tell what The Real Housewives of Montana actually looks like, but it sure looks like we're going to find out.
