Disc Golf Really Is a Thing in Montana and Great Falls

Across the world, a somewhat newer sport has come to light in the last few years, even making its way to Montana.  Disc golf is played much like regular golf, minus the clubs and balls.  Those are replaced by an arm and frisbee.

It's estimated that 8-12 million people have played the sport, with another half a million people playing on a regular basis.  Great Falls has jumped on board, featuring a complete course available to everyone.

Professional Sanctioning Body Recognizes Montana and Great Falls

The Professional Disc Golf Association is the governing body of disc golf and oversees both amateur events and a professional tour.  The PDGA annually sanctions over 3,500 events and has an active membership base of more than 80,000 competitive disc golfers from 47 nations around the world.

Now, one of those events is coming to the Electric City for enthusiasts to test their mettle and throwing ability at.  This sanctioned event is set for Great Falls on April 27th and 28th at new Silver Thorn Disc Golf Course.
