The Walking Bridge Has Some Great Views Overlooking The Missouri River

Established in 1846, Fort Benton is home to a population of 1464 residents (as of the 2020 census).  It is home to the Longhorns, a Class C school district that has many sports and academic trophies in their possession.  It is also the county seat for Chouteau County (probably the most often misspelled county name in MT).

Beautiful Scenic Overlook From The Ridge

Much like Great Falls, Fort Benton offers a walking trail that could be considered a historical walk with sub titles.  Each historical spot is explained with easy to read information boards (you will see them in the gallery below) that take you back in time.

If you are a history buff, or just want to take a nice drive out of town, Fort Benton needs to be on your list of destinations.
