OK, before you freak out because of the title, there's not actually a dog dedicated to chasing geese here and in Great Falls.

However, believe it or not, this is a thing in other cities in the Nation.

I stumbled across a story about the Long Island community of Oyster Bay, which does just this: employs a dog to chase geese.

Like Great Falls, Montana, Oyster Bay has what some might consider a goose problem!

About the only difference between Oyster Bay and Great Falls, Montana is the fact that we actually have predators here to keep the goose population down slightly.

In this Long Island community, the goose is pretty much at the top of the food chain.

To keep the geese moving along, the town has literally hired a company that specializes in chasing off geese.

Brilliant business idea if you ask me!

What's funny about the whole thing is that the company deploys Australian Shepherds to do the heavy lifting.

Geese In Great Falls

Great Falls is home to quite a number of geese.

After all, the city has a building called the Honker Hilton, where waterfowl call home during winter.

So, after reading this story out of Oyster Bay, I got to thinking, should Great Falls deploy dogs to run some of the geese?

I mean, it's no secret they make quite the mess at Gibson Park and along the river.
