Apparently, I'm not the only one who feels that way. These days, plenty of people have backyard fire pits, making it easy to enjoy a fire whenever the mood strikes.

Of course, some folks also see it as a good chance to get rid of a little unwanted trash around the house.

While some things make great kindling, others can be dangerous to burn. In fact, there are several items that are actually banned from being tossed into your backyard fire pit.

There are a few reasons for that. Some products contain chemicals or materials that can release harmful toxins when burned. Others can create serious safety hazards, including the risk of explosions or injuries.

The important thing to remember is that these rules aren't there to ruin anyone's fun. Most of them exist because someone got hurt, and nobody wants to see that happen again.
