
More Bang for Your Buck Renting This Way in Great Falls
A rather odd thought occurred to me as I was driving around the Electric City over the weekend while enjoying Cars and Coffee with fellow car enthusiasts on a nice Saturday drive, before the snow hit.
As I noticed several "for rent" signs in apartments and yards of homes, I wondered if I would have chosen the career I did, knowing that I wouldn't be making millions, but the cost of living would skyrocket?

Before property owners start, I understand that there are tenants of rentals that are horrible. I get it. But I also get that Great Falls residents aren't necessarily knocking down the kind of cash that some rental properties are asking.

When I hit the web to find some prices on rental units in Great Falls, I nearly fell out of my chair. The average rent across Great Falls according to Rent.com settles somewhere in the neighborhood of about $1500. And that's just for apartments!
Average Prices in Great Falls - Why Wouldn't You Rent the Bigger Space?
The thing that really caught me off guard was the difference in rental property pricing for them. For instance, according to Rent.com the average price for a one-bedroom apartment in the city is $995. A two bedroom will hit around $1195.
But the craziest part of the report of rentals was that regarding a studio apartment in Great Falls. That average price rests way north of the other two, coming in at an astonishing $1919 per month. Nearly two grand a month. It seems to me that the bang for your buck might be the one- or two-bedrooms rentals instead of a studio.
Looking at my check deposit, I don't have a clue on how folks are affording this. And again, knowing what I know now would I still be doing what I am doing? Probably not.
