
Farewell and Happy Retirement for Great Falls Library Director
The Great Falls Public Library will be welcoming in a new director in 2026, as current director Susie McIntyre announced her resignation in early of 2025, taking effect on December 27th of this year.
McIntyre is retiring from the GFPL after serving as the director for the past 6 years, as well as being with the facility for the past 20 years. To celebrate the retirement, staff recently held a farewell party for Ms. McIntyre.

Employees, residents, friends and family all gathered at the Great Falls Public Library on December 9th for a farewell and retirement party to celebrate McIntyre's service to the library and the community.

Emotional Goodbye - Warm Welcome for Incoming Director in January 2026
In an emotional goodbye speech, McIntyre recounted learning her love for reading from her parents and thanked everyone who made a difference in her career.
Great Falls will welcome in the new Public Library Director in January of 2026. In November the Library Board of Directors announced that Amy Dissmeyer would be the new director beginning on January 5th, 2026. You can read more about Dissmeyer and her appointment here.
