How A Montana Tragedy Turned Into A Nation Wide Movement

Montanans are known to enjoy a drink or four.

In fact, Montana has one of the highest rates of DUI in the country. Now that reasoning behind that is debatable, but there is a group that is trying to reward those who decided not to drink and drive and their efforts are gaining national attention.

The group is called the "Bar Fairies" and while their efforts are being noticed nationally, they're a group that started out in the the northwestern part of the state.

The purpose of the group? To reward those who choose not to drink and drive. The group decided to do something for the folks who make good decisions and starting leaving coffee gift cards under the windshield wipers of cars that were parked overnight at bars.

Volunteers for the group are racking up some impressive numbers on social media with one duo receiving over 2 million views on TikTok.

What prompted the Bar Fairies?

Back in 2023, Bobby Dewbre was crossing a highway when he was struck and killed by a drunk driver. The Columbia Falls man was celebrating his 21st birthday. After the death of Bobby, a group of folks decided to come together and make a difference and the Bar Fairies came to be.
