In the last couple of decades, tattoos have become much more mainstream.

I remember growing up, adults talked about how you could tell a person was shady by the fact they had tattoos, that when you get old tattoos look awful, and that you would be judged in a job interview if your tattoos showed, and would probably not get the job due to that fact.

Then around the year 2000ish things started to change.  People in general rebelled against the "tattoo stereotypes" that had been the norm for generations.  I got my first 2 tattoos while I was live on the air doing a remote.  And I mean LIVE LIVE.  Those were the days before pre-recording airshifts took over the industry.  Yes, my first tattoo is pretty typical for a radio announcer, an RCA microphone on my shoulder.  It's really pretty sweet.

Today, I was wondering what the most searched for tattoo design in Montana was.  I thought for sure it would be some version of the state, the 406 thing, or even Montana is for badasses thing.  Imagine my surprise when I found out it was a gun.

Ok, stop imagining, it wasn't really all that surprising, just disappointing.  Not in the fact that I hate guns or anything.  It's disappointing in that I thought Montanans had such pride in the state that the state itself would take the top spot.  Not some random gun that anyone in any state in America has access to.

If I ever get another tattoo, and that's uncertain, it's going to be some kind of homage to Montana.  Maybe I can start a trend.
