Before I even start this:

  1. This Facebook post explains a lot of the driving I see in this town
  2. There IS NO Fast Lane/Slow Land while DRIVING in TOWN

This weekend, I happened upon the Great Falls Bad Drivers/Parking page. I do love me some parking shaming.

I come across this post on the GF Bad Drivers page. It's basically someone saying that another driver was heckling her about not going fast enough over the bridge, or maybe not letting people pass. Who knows what will get people mad these days.

Anyway, it's the comments that got me here. Reading through the comment section it becomes apparent to me that some people think there is a fast lane/slow lane for IN TOWN DRIVING. You read that correctly. Some people really said, in writing, with no shame, on the internet that was very close to this: "They don't even have manners enough to use the fast lane slow lane courtesy."

How do these people get their driver's license, and are they teaching NEW drivers that in town, there's a "fast lane"?

And what does that even mean, anyway? Does it mean that one lane if for SLOWER than the speed limit in town and the other is if you give the speed limit the middle finger and just go super FAST in town? Is the speed limit a suggestion to decide your mood for the day? What if I just want to go the speed limit? Where's THAT lane?

For The Love Of Driving Safely In Montana:

There is NO fast/lane slow/lane law when driving in Montana towns.

For those in the back:

There is NO fast/lane slow/lane law when driving in Montana towns.

In fact, I'm doubling down here:

On the interstate, the left lane is called the PASSING lane not the FAST lane.

LOOK: See how much gasoline cost the year you started driving

To find out more about how has the price of gas changed throughout the years, Stacker ran the numbers on the cost of a gallon of gasoline for each of the last 84 years. Using data from the Bureau of Labor Statistics (released in April 2020), we analyzed the average price for a gallon of unleaded regular gasoline from 1976 to 2020 along with the Consumer Price Index (CPI) for unleaded regular gasoline from 1937 to 1976, including the absolute and inflation-adjusted prices for each year.

Read on to explore the cost of gas over time and rediscover just how much a gallon was when you first started driving.
