In all my years in radio, I've been the only full-time female announcer most of my career. Once in Billings my boss was the female lead of a morning show and I was nights. Michelle Wilson and I both worked at a local rock station for a time and there was a brief, shining, moment that Bejay and I were both full-time and on the air in Great Falls. Then one day Bejay went where the money is, and I was left the lone girl, once again.

Don't get me wrong. I actually like it. Men are much different than women socially. I usually don't get bogged down in their work drama because there isn't much of it. Men tend to keep most gossip at bay until they're surrounded by other men and have 2-6 drinks in them.

But, there are some things that only a woman in a man's world sees on a daily. Today has been hilarious.

First thing I see today in what is essentially the announcer's bathroom is this:

Women will know right away what the problem with this picture is. Men I work with will not. This is actually a little better than usual. Usually, I find the new toilet paper either on the old toilet paper, not the tp dispenser, just ON the old tp, or on the bar by the toilet. Just so you know, we're on our second roll of toilet paper that I put on, while this one is still sitting on the back of the toilet. It's a little experiment I'm running.

The best today was Chris. He comes in and asks me and Jalyn if we thought he could beat a WOLVERINE in a cage match. Of course we said no, then he goes on to list all the reasons he thinks he can kick a wolverine's butt. Then he said what about an otter. No Chris. How about a doe? For the love of Pete, Chris, NO. I told him I have some pretty buff squirrels in my yard that could cause some real damage before he could take them out.

Testosterone.
