Roughly 14 million viewers tuned into the premiere of Yellowstone season 5, which let's be honest is pretty good numbers. It's catapulted the perceived Montana lifestyle to new heights even more so than the previous seasons as we saw that John Dutton is now in a position most people thought would eventually happen as he is now the “governor”. Fictional Montana has become a place where we wind back, or at least try to the mid twentieth century and everyone seems to love it.

Paramount seem to want to keep that momentum going with a new show, a fish out of water show created by Yellowstone star Taylor Sheridan, starring none other than Sylvester Stallone in his first ever TV show. They’ve dubbed it Tulsa King.

Tulsa King, as you guessed it, is shot in Oklahoma. If you haven't seen the show or the trailer, it’s a story about an old mob capo being released from prison and going back to work for the crime family of which he was incarcerated protecting.

After the release montage, he is sent by the family to Tulsa, Oklahoma and basically out to pasture, pun intended, to start operations out there. Misguided by the terrain, he bumps into innocent people and takes advantage of them the old-fashioned way by offering protection of which they do not need. You can see for yourself by watching on Paramount Plus.

What I as a Montanan, and other people on the internet want to know is will that same Yellowstone momentum translate to Tulsa King and Oklahoma? Will people flock to grab their own piece of The Sooner State and see what it’s really like? Rotten Tomatoes has a review of 77 percent which is certified fresh, which seems to be a good start.

People took to social media to share snippets of production.
