Did you know there is proper etiquette to selecting a dogs name.   According to Lizzy Francis of Fatherly,  you should choose a good dog name that ends with a vowel, like Taco or Rossi.  She says dogs distinguish frequency ranges at a much higher level than humans do and with a vowel name it is easy to get their attention.

She says keep it simple,  two syllables is plenty.  Avoid creative names with negative connotations like Cujo.  She says many people will not want to pet a dog named Cujo, or babysit for Cujo.  Don't get clever with names for your dog.  For example,  don't name your dog Bo.....it sounds like No.

If you have other pets in your house try to keep the names apart from the other pets you have.  In other words, if you have a dog named Spot, don't call the new  dog Scott.  Take a look at the dogs personality and come up with a name this fits.  If you think your dog is crazy maybe pick the name nutty.

And the final piece of advice is pick a name and stick with it.
