Grizzly Bear Trespasses onto Montana Property, Ends Up Shot & Killed
Grizzly bears have been the topic of discussion for Montanans a lot lately with one of the more horrific stories involving a bow hunter who was seriously injured by a grizzly bear earlier this month.
Many in Montana have been calling for the delisting of the grizzly bear due to the bears moving into more heavily human populated areas.
Now, Montana Fish Wildlife & Parks is reporting that someone had an up-close-and-personal encounter with a grizzly that left the bear dead.
Grizzly Bear Shot in Montana
According to a press release from Montana Fish, Wildlife & Parks, a landowner in the Trego area had close encounter with a grizzly.
"On the morning of Oct. 1, a landowner in the Trego area shot and killed a male grizzly bear," Montana FWP said in their statement. "Fortunately, the landowner was uninjured in the encounter."
Apparently, the landowner heard some noises around his property and went outside to investigate. That's when he encountered the grizzly bear at close range and presumably pulled a gun out right then and there to put it down.

Authorities say that U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, and Montana Fish, Wildlife & Parks, responded to the scene
"We are thankful to know the landowner was unharmed in this incident," FWP Director Christy Clark said in her statement.
"We understand that an encounter like this can be unsettling. Fall is an especially active time for bears as they move more in search of food, which can increase the potential for bear-related conflicts. Our staff remains committed to supporting communities and landowners to help people stay safe."

Hopefully, word of this incident well spread among the grizzly bear community, and they'll think twice before trespassing in Montana again.
Beware of the Bears!
Right now is the time when bears load up on gobs of calories to prepare for winter so it's not all that surprising this man found a grizzly on his property looking for a meal.
However, this further fuels the debate as to whether or not the grizzly should be delisted in Montana.
