The latest recall has been announced by Ford and is affecting an estimated 1.4 million vehicles and various models according to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
According to the NHTSA, "the rearview camera may display a distorted, inverted, or blank image when the vehicle is in reverse." While some of us don't ever use the camera, many people do and rely on it for support.
Thankfully, the NHTSA says dealers will replace the rearview camera "as necessary, free of charge."
How To Resolve The Recall On Your Ford
"Interim letters notifying owners of the safety risk are expected to be mailed September 22, 2025. Additional letters will be mailed once the remedy is available," the NHTSA said on their site.
"Owners may contact Ford customer service at 1-866-436-7332. Ford's number for this recall is 25S89. This recall expands previous NHTSA recall number 25V270."

We have every year and model affected below but if you're unsure, you can always go NHTSA.gov and submit your VIN number to check on your vehicle's recall.
