There's no easier way to start a conversation among strangers than by asking them what their favorite vehicle brands are.

However, as easily as the conversation starts, it quickly becomes a battle.

It seems that people are incredibly loyal to vehicle brands and will back their favorite brands no matter what.

If you want to take the conversation about vehicle brands to the next level, ask somebody what the best pickup brand for Montana is.

That will most certainly stir the pot, haha.

Best Pickup Trucks

I'm in the market for a new pickup truck, and I'm trying to put my brand loyalty aside and shop with an open mind.

So, with that said, I've started asking folks what their favorite pickup brands are and why.

Most people I've talked to are big Chevy and GMC fans.

Ford is a solid second, and Ram rounds out the top three.

I've always been a big Ram truck fan, but as I mentioned, I'm open to other opinions.

What To Look For In A Pickup Truck

When buying a new or used pickup truck, here are some things that come to my mind.

  • Usage: First and foremost, what will you use the thing for? You don't need a 1 ton, dually, if you're never pulling anything, right?
  • Engine and Performance: Similar to above, this needs to align with your usage.
  • Size and Configuration: Cab size is big, especially if you have a family!
  • Safety Features: Research the safety ratings; don't ask me how I know!
  • Comfort and Tech: Figure out what bells and whistles you want and can't live without. There are a ton of them these days.
  • Cost and Resale: Consider what the specific models are selling for.
  • Reliability and Maintenance: Nowadays, there's no lack of information regarding a vehicle's reliability. Just do your homework.
