Havre Beneath the Streets has been giving tours of the fascinating underground history. According Visit MT a fire destroyed most of the town leaving people to flee underground to keep their businesses alive.

The tour shows a recreation of what life in Havre was like during this time. The site gives a sneak peek into what you will find.
"We invite you to step back in time with us, as much as 100 years age, into the Sporting Eagle Saloon, a turn-of-the-century honky tonk where cowboys gambled, kicked up their heels and drank good old-fashioned frontier rot-gut. Join us as we saunter along the streets beneath Havre and see an opium den (one of three known to have existed in the early days), a Chinese laundry, an ethnic restaurant, and of course, a bordello."

The tours run varying times during different seasons and they recommend making a reservation especially on weekends or if you are interested in seeing the tour in the evening.
Summer Hours
Monday -Sunday 9:00am - 5:00pm
Tours: 9:30am - 3:30pm
Winter Hours
Monday - Saturday: 10:00am - 4:00pm
Tours: 10:30am - 2:30pm
