Challenges Facing Restaurants In Montana
What seemed like a regular day, we found out, was the last day the cafe would be open in Three Forks.
When I asked Jamie Taylor, better known as the "Three Forks Pie Lady," why she was closing down, she responded, "Have you ever owned a restaurant?"
Any of you who have worked in or been around the restaurant business know why that got a big laugh from all within earshot.
What’s Next For The Three Forks Pie Lady?
The truth as to why they are closing is not one reason in particular, but a multitude of reasons.
Jamie explained that the timing was right for their closure, noting that they weren't shutting down because of poor sales. Instead, she and her husband have become empty nesters, and her husband retired from the military earlier this year.
She'll still be baking and selling pies, just no longer offering up the amazing home cooked food as well. As for the future, she says she’s looking forward to "Less stress, more pies."
