Awesome Underground Bunker For Sale in Paradise Valley Montana
I enjoy writing about unique properties in Montana. I've written about gorgeous homes for sale with indoor pools, the most expensive houses on the market in Montana, old saloons that come up for sale, and other interesting lots. However, the property featured here today is one of the wildest I've ever come across.
Dubbed Paradise Bunker Retreat, this property features much more than initially meets the eye. For example, a 7,100 sq ft underground fallout shelter.
Hundreds of tiny, baby grasshoppers, about the size of a fat piece of rice. Walking through my grass, they were bouncing around everywhere.

A 20-acre parcel of land in stunning Paradise Valley is special enough in its own right. Even before the world was exposed to the hit series Yellowstone, this area was arguably one of the most desirable real estate locations in Montana.
Just 30 minutes from Yellowstone National Park and 10 minutes or so from popular destinations like Chico Hot Springs, Sage Lodge, and the Old Saloon in Emigrant, the Paradise Bunker Retreat is ideally situated in the valley.
A renovated 3-bedroom, 2-bath mobile home is the primary residence on the property, but it's what's lurking beneath the surface that makes this acreage so special. Let's check out the fallout shelter/bunker.
A 600 sq. foot above-ground entryway leads to the 6,500 sq. foot underground facility. It was built in 1989 by a church group, which constructed several similar bunkers in the vicinity at the time. The bunker was designed to accommodate up to 100 people for up to 90 days.
It was designed with survival in mind.
The bunker was built with everything humans might need underground, including a full kitchen, refrigerator, gas-burning stove, sanctuary/living space, communications room, men’s and women’s bathrooms with multiple toilets, sinks and showers, infirmary with bathtub, toilet, and sink, finished dormitories, unfinished dormitories, multiple storage rooms, large mechanical room with generator, and so much more.
The ultimate off-grid compound?
The home and bunker are currently connected to the local electric utility company, but could be converted to solar and/or wind relatively easily, as the bunker is wired for 12-volt DC and 110 AC.
There is a 10,000-gallon underground diesel tank, six above-ground industrial-sized propane tanks, and a diesel generator. The owners shared a video walkthrough of the bunker on their Facebook page. Take a virtual tour below.
Paradise Bunker Retreat is For Sale By Owner with an asking price of $888,000. You can see more pictures and details on Zillow or check out the detailed write-up and photos the owners shared on their website HERE.
