It’s Your Alma Mater’s Garage Sale, What Do You Take?
Surfing across the rabbit holes of the internet, there are certainly strange things to find everywhere. But once in a while, you find that one cool thing that makes you do a double take and maybe even a "why didn't I think of that" moment.
A beachfront property has gone up for sale in California featuring all of the normal amenities that one would expect in a luxurious $36.5 million dollar home. Chef kitchen, 17ft tall library ceilings, even a 1,000-bottle wine cellar. But in the dedicated game room, that is where it gets a little different. The couple were both UCLA alumni and donors. When the school remodeled, they offered them part of the court. They have incorporated it into the game room. How awesome is that!?
Reading through the article, I started to think back on both my high school and college days and what unique thing would it be that I would choose to take with me given the chance? Growing up in an extremely small school, we didn't have many of the fancy things many larger schools did. There was however, one very unique thing that would be at the top of my list. If you were lucky enough during the school year, you would be asked to ring the bell in the tower that stood over the entire building complex. Whether it be for the start of the day, lunch, end of day, it didn't matter, it was the excitement of pulling that huge rope to hear the bell clang to everyone outside. It still sits in it's same spot, same tower in my old school. But if it were to be the one thing, that would be what I would take home to my wife as my coveted garage sale find. What about you? Do you have that one thing that comes to mind from your younger days in school? Where would you put it? How would your partner react?
