Recent rumblings across the Electric City about our local grocery shopping choices have been rampant it seems. Most recently an article cited the rumor mill of social media of Winco brands coming to Great Falls.
Could another large grocery chain be making its way into our market? Will we be able to have more choices of where we purchase our favorite foods to cook? It might just happen.
Sale of Local Store Could Mean a New Grocery in Town
In new reports from Bloomberg, it appears that Kroger and Albertson's will be selling off many properties to be able to merge. One of those stores listed is right here in Great Falls.
The westside location of Albertson's in Great Falls on 3rd Street NW is part of that new deal. The store is tentatively set to be sold to C&S Wholesale Grocers.

Does This Mean a Piggly Wiggly is Coming to Great Falls Then?
There are still some major hurdles that will need to be leaped before this merger and sale become final. However, in looking at the C&S website, they do run two different chains of stores, including Piggly Wiggly.

Is it coming to Great Falls? Time will be the ultimate answer for this one, but I hope so. More options for shopping are always welcome, and let's face it; my inner child simply wants to say Piggly Wiggly over and over.
