Build for a Cause Open Now with Montana Farmers Union

For many in central Montana, this writer included, a rite of passage is a week during the summer at the Montana Farmers Union Camp in the Belt Mountains.  It may involve groups like Future Farmers of America (FFA) and 4-H programs.

This year there are 5 different camps scheduled for the youth during the summer, starting in June.  But before then, some upgrades are needed at the camp, and Montana Farmers Union is asking those same youth for help.

MFU Keeps Montana Farming and Ranching Traditions Alive

Montana Farmers Union is a grassroots, non-profit organization headquartered in Great Falls, MT. Their focus is on education, advocacy and cooperation to preserve family farms and ranches and rural communities for generations to come.

This year, MFU wants to team with groups to help replace the ailing beds at the Farmers Union Camp.  MFU wants to promote a student skill development with fund-raising potential.

Montana 4-H, FFA and School Shop Programs Are All Encouraged to Apply

According to MFU, these are the needs currently for beds at the camp:

MFU needs six (6) twin / twin and ten (10) twin / queen bunkbeds. Programs are encouraged to develop their own project plans and list of materials. Bunk-bed proposals will be submitted to receive approval. Solid and sturdy are priorities, but applications are encouraged to be creative with their designs.  Proposals must include how many beds will be built, a general design and cost.

If your group is interested in participating and submitting designs, reach out to Matt Raines at (406)-899-2624 or you email him here.
