Montana is Keeping Up with the Larger Cities in America

Data from SmartAsset shows that Montana is keeping up with the times when it comes to larger market areas and cities.  On average in the US, income breaks down as follows:

  • Middle-class income in big cities ranges from $49,478 to $71,359.

When comparing Montana average middle-class income, we are just a few dollars behind, coming in at $70,804.  However, the "middle-class" has a huge range of numbers, even for our state.

Big Numbers for the Top End of Middle Class in Montana

When I look at that number of average incomes, I feel pretty good about my paycheck.  But then I look at what is considered the "high" end of being middle class.  That number is shocking.

In our state the high end is making just over $141,000 in income.  Kudos to those that are raking in the bigger bucks, but where are these jobs located?  Maybe it is time for a career change!
