Showdown’s Torchlight Parade Was Beyond Epic, Check It Out!

Let me start by saying if you missed the New Year's Eve Celebration at Showdown Montana, words won't do justice to how cool of an event it was! 

As the sun dipped below the horizon, casting a warm glow over the mountain slopes, the stage was set for the annual Torchlight Parade and firework display at Showdown Montana.

This much-anticipated event, put on by the Great Falls Ski Patrol and sponsored by Carnahan Towing & Repair and Paddock Heating & Cooling illuminated the night sky and marked the perfect transition from the old year to the new.

The festivities commenced late afternoon with live music by Joe Ryan.

As soon as darkness enveloped the surroundings, loud booms from fireworks were heard.

Families and friends gathered on the main deck, creating a warm and communal atmosphere.

The event was explicitly designed to be family-friendly, making it an ideal outing for all age groups.

Showdown Montana Torchlight Parade

Skiers adorned with glowing torches descended the slopes, creating a mesmerizing trail of light that captivated onlookers.

This year, 52 skiers and three snowboarders comprised of Great Falls Ski Patrol members, Showdown employees, and volunteers made up the Torchlight Parade.

The group waited anxiously at Top Rock, the shelter just off of the Prospector and Payload chairlifts at the summit until the sun had dipped below the mountains.

The torch barriers started at the top of the Hall-O, formerly known as Big-Seven, and made their way in a snake-like pattern down the blue run.

Following this spectacle, the sky erupted into an array of fireworks.

The free-to-watch event drew crowds to the base area, where spectators gathered to witness the grand finale.

The Boom Crew, responsible for lighting up the sky on New Year's Eve, received well-deserved gratitude for their expertise and dedication to making the event truly spectacular.

The Showdown Montana Torchlight Parade and Fireworks Extravaganza undoubtedly left a lasting impression, creating cherished memories for all who attended.
